The Retreat Hut is a rustic and cozy 10' x 12' building to accommodate one person for a time of solitude and reflection. Large windows open into a verdant view, catching the cool cross-breeze and welcoming the woodland sounds of the night. A space heater can take the chill off a cool night, or help extend the seasons. Now with a wrap-around deck and outdoor table and hammock. Linens provided. Indoor hanging chair. Use the Hut for "home base", but you are welcome to use and enjoy all the grounds.
A bench bed with 4" foam makes for comfortable sleeping at night, or a daybed for lounging by day.
A table and chair provide space for reading, writing, or eating. Wireless internet connection is usually available. Use of a personal library in the Garber home is readily accessed.
The kitchen corner is equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and basic eating utensils. Coffee, tea, sugar provided -- you provide your own food. You are also welcome to gather both wild and garden produce in season. The cabin has no indoor plumbing, but potable water is provided in a container with a spout. With a wash bowl, your hygiene needs are accommodated.
A personal porta-potty provides odor-free sewage storage for up to 5 days. There is also a commercial porta-potty on the grounds. Bathing can be done in the creek, or in the Garber home by request (100' down the path.)
